Red Hat is a great place to work if you like working with free software (i.e. Linux and FOSS programming languages). They provide an excellent avenue to play with FOSS tools and access real users (the community).

Things like dress code and organizational structure are de-emphasized in favor of working on real technology that benefits users. The employees and management alike generally seem to "get it".

Potential downsides include less direction and requirements than other companies in some areas.
