4.0 No lip-service ! *gets* free software ! posted on December 01, 2006

Excellent company to work for. If you firmly believe that the work you do everyday must have a higher purpose than just feeding you - it must make a difference to the world, if you see technology as the wheels that will drive the future, and free software as the pegs that hold the wheels, Red Hat is the place to be.

Besides the firmly rooted corporate culture of freedom and openness, it is also a fun place to be. If you enjoy being surrounded by hackers (technical or otherwise) this is the place !

Plus of course there are other perks, you get to work from home if you so wish (and your manger thinks you are capable of pulling it off), you get to go to places all over the world (it *is* a global company, you know), you are encouraged to work on things that interest you ie: you are free to move between departments/projects if you make your interests known and more importantly (much like the OSS community) can prove that you can do it !
