Plenty of opportunities

Good: Your opinions matter. And there are enough opportunities to let you find and work on what you love. With about 12 offices around the world, and the freedom to work from any of them for a short duration is even better!
Bad: Products are developed too much by engineering brains, and less by what a consumer actually demands. Products are the best in the world, but they often lack what a user really needs. So it can be a little frustrating to be the more... -

A company for and by opiniated developers

The culture is fantastically friendly and informal. Also highly recommended for internationally minded people: Opera has offices all over the world and a very diverse population, well beyond what is usually expected for a company of this size. Developers are very influencial, and most managers (including top level) are developers themselves.
Opera is full of talented people, most of them with strong opinions, not only on technical issues, but also often on more... -

Anarchy Offline

Design by committee with conserned parties invited. However, no control on which parties should be involved, so this is up to each manager and who passes by. Very, very opinionated employees, everyone supposed to be able to contribute to any process. Since noone wants to write boring code, and there's not much pressure too, there tends to be significant internal abandonware.
I would recommend working at the company for anyone seeking experience in corporate more...
